Expanding the scope of certification
The Management System Certification Body, in response to an application to extend the scope of the certification already granted, begins to analyze the application and identifies any audit actions necessary to decide whether or not to decide on the extension of the certification. This can be done in conjunction with a supervisory audit.
In order to investigate complaints, either in response to changes or as a follow-up to clients whose certification has been suspended, the Management Systems Certification Body may need to audit certified clients as soon as possible or without prior notice. In such cases:
- The management system certification body shall describe and notify certified clients in advance of the conditions under which such audits will be carried out;
- The management system certification body pays additional attention to the appointment of the audit team due to the lack of opportunity for the client to challenge the composition of the audit team.
